SDP: Establish government as soon as possible

At today's session of the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, the adoption of the Statement on the European Path of BiH, passed by both houses of the BiH Parliament, was welcomed, which means that serious and concrete activities are yet to follow, where it will be seen which parties supported it pro forma and who is truly ready to work on the reforms that are a prerequisite for BiH's membership in the European Union, it was announced from the SDP, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- The Presidency of the SDP BiH calls on the parties forming the new parliamentary majority to urgently finalize the process of forming the government. Further delay of this process and trading of ministerial and other positions can have unforeseeable consequences for BiH's European path and the obligations arising from the Statement, and ignoring the outstretched hand from Brussels can be very dangerous for the fate of BiH and its citizens.

Members of the Presidency of the SDP BiH condemned the recent increase in salaries of elected and appointed officials in the Assembly of Tuzla Canton. This inappropriate move, which came at a time of increasing social unrest in this canton, should be corrected as soon as possible and returned to the level of last year's 30 percent reduction.

At the session of the Presidency, a proposal for the new membership fee was determined, so in the future, the annual membership fee in the SDP BiH will be 12 KM, while for pensioners, students, and vulnerable social categories, the membership fee will be only one KM annually.

Members of the Presidency were also informed at the session about the realization of the presentation of the SDP BiH Work Program for 2015, which was promoted in most cantonal and regional organizations during February, where it was well received by most of the membership. It was emphasized that the presentation of the Program will continue during March in organizations where the Program has not yet been presented.
