SDP Calls Out SDA and DF: Are You Ready to Hand Over BiH to HDZ's Policy of Dividing the Country?

The parliamentary majority of SDA - HDZ - DF has shown, through the collapse of negotiations on forming the FBiH Government nearly six months after the general elections, that citizens are victims of their unprincipled politics and political adventurism, announced the SDP, as reported by the Patria news agency.  

It is now clear that a government established by force is not only not in the interest of the state, but is directly against the interests of the state. 

- A government in which the HDZ, which openly advocates for the ethnic division of BiH in all areas, is to have the final say can only be harmful to BiH. With this outcome, the SDA has shown it is ready to sell all principles in order to fulfill the unrealistic and illegitimate goals of the HDZ and Dragan Čović, just to get its hands on ministerial seats. It is obvious that such a government is only interested in control over public resources and putting them at the service of a handful of party power brokers - stated the SDP. 

The SDP believes there is no need to remind the public, nor the SDA and DF, that two days ago the HDZ BiH, through its Croatian National Assembly, sent messages that their goal is to divide BiH along wartime lines. 

Therefore, the SDP publicly calls on the SDA and DF to think carefully about whether they are ready to hand BiH over to such a policy and to clearly define their position regarding the stances of the HDZ, which are returning Bosnia and Herzegovina to a time we thought was behind us. 

- It is quite clear that the first step towards achieving the proclaimed goals of the HNS would be the establishment of a government based on the principle of Bosniak positions for the SDA and Croatian positions for the HDZ. If the DF agrees to support such a government, even as a minority, it must be aware that it is thereby opening Pandora's box of divisions, and it is a big question where this will lead the country - the SDP statement reads. 

A government in which only the SDA and HDZ will participate, following the SDA's incredible leniency towards the HDZ's demands, will be treated by the SDP as the first step towards the division of BiH. 

The SDP will remain consistent in its commitment to never accept the principle of exclusive representation of peoples, as this contradicts the essence of BiH as a state of equal citizens. 

- We will make maximum efforts to change such a government as soon as possible, because the sooner that happens, the better it will be for BiH and all its citizens, the SDP concludes.
