SDP pushed former HDZ official Boris Barun for judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH

(Patria) - With the votes of delegates from the SDP and HDZ BiH in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, former HDZ BiH official Boris Barun was appointed judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH today.

Delegates of the Democratic Front (DF) Albin Zuhrić and Vedrana Vujović pointed this out in posts on the platform X.

"The SDP has just cast the key votes in the House of Peoples for the election of Boris Barun, a former HDZ representative, to the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH.

Unfortunately, this is a party that no longer resembles itself, has no principles, no credibility.

It would be healthiest for our society if it were to dissolve and stop shaming the legacy of honorable social democrats who once fought for a civic society," Zuhrić stated.

"Among the relevant information in the biography of the newly appointed judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH, Boris Barun, is the key one - he is a member of HDZ BiH," Vedrana Vujović wrote briefly, attaching Barun's biography.

The name Boris Barun was on the list of several candidates for this position submitted by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV) of BiH in 2022.

Before him, the list included Jasminka Džumhur, Monika Mijić, and Senad Osmić, but none of them received the required majority of votes.

Anja Vuleta-Pavelka was also elected as a judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH, while candidates Slaviša Bjelogrlić and Damir Šapina did not receive the required majority.
