SDP Candidates in Kakanj and Zavidovići

The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun its pre-election activities in the Zenica-Doboj Canton with rallies in Kakanj and Zavidovići.

Candidates of the SDP BiH from this Canton for the upcoming October General Elections were presented to a large number of gathered members and supporters.The rallies also presented the results of the SDP BiH in the ZDC, among which the investment in the Kakanj Thermal Power Plant and mines should be particularly highlighted, with over 150 million KM invested in their operation and modernization in the past three years.

Munib Husejnagić, the current Prime Minister of the ZDC and the holder of the SDP BiH list for the Cantonal Assembly, stated that the SDP presents the accounts of its three-year mandate with a clear conscience.

"Unlike those who have been united in crime for decades, we have managed in three years, together with the citizens, to move many things forward and restore this canton's position as an economic leader in BiH," said Husejnagić.

Mirsad Mešić, president of the SDP BiH ZDC Cantonal Organization and holder of the list for the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, emphasized that the SDP will certainly continue to be the only force that will not allow the disintegration of the state.

"To all those who wish to divide this country, we must respond united with a smile on our faces, telling them that we will never let them achieve their intentions," added Mešić.

Nermin Nikšić, the Federal Prime Minister and Secretary General of the SDP BiH, informed the attendees about how the current Government of the FBiH has invested the most in this canton.

"We are witnesses to how others claim credit for what we have done, but no one before has paid back a third of the debt to veterans and the entire debt to pensioners, no one in the FBiH has enabled a higher number of employed people, despite negative trends in this area in the region. The recently adopted laws on the confiscation of illegally acquired property and the fight against corruption create conditions for a more effective fight against these scourges, and no one will be able to find excuses for their inaction in dealing with organized crime and corruption anymore," emphasized Nikšić.

Bakir Hadžiomerović, a candidate for the BiH Presidency member, addressed the current situation regarding the stance of American officials David Barth and Scott Miller.

"It is unacceptable for third-rate bureaucrats to conduct an election campaign for other political parties and give lectures based on the suffering of our peoples, as if this country has no institutions of its own," said Hadžiomerović.

The president of SDP BiH, Zlatko Lagumdžija, emphasized in his address that SDP BiH has always been a party that fought for the unity of all, not just one nation in BiH.

He reminded that the Law on the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property came into force on Thursday and once again called on the leaders of political parties and officials at all levels of government to present their assets to the public and to have every KM acquired illegally confiscated in accordance with this Law.

"That is why we must have the most representatives at the state level, because that is the only guarantee that foreign tutors and domestic traitors will not divide this country. The SDP is not, nor will it ever be, a party of one man, nor is the SDP a party that our father left us as a legacy," concluded Lagumdžija his address to the attendees, announced the SDP BiH Information Center.
