SDP members massively defect to DF and SDA

Over the past ten days, a large number of disappointed SDP members have been coming to the offices of the Democratic Front in Sarajevo and other BiH cities, and have begun leaving this party even more massively after the mayor of Sarajevo's Centar municipality, Dževad Bećirević, did so, writes the Patria news agency.

Just during yesterday, according to Patria's information, about 15 of them who are in the innermost leadership of the municipal and cantonal SDP organizations signed membership forms for the DF.

Along with Bećirević, as we have already reported, another 23 councilors from Sarajevo municipalities are also defecting.

However, there are also SDP members who are defecting to the SDA. Thus, after Amel Mekić in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, representative Hamed Aljović also crossed over to the SDA ranks.

Now, in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, the SDA has 12 representatives and the DF seven, which is 19 votes, i.e., a majority sufficient to form a government.

Along with them, there are also two BOSS members, Haris Pleho and Rasim Smajić, who negotiated with the SDA, and after being given promises to fulfill their demands, they sided with the SDA-DF coalition, which thus has 21 votes in the cantonal Assembly.

In the DF, they told us that some federal SDP representatives, as well as current cantonal and federal ministers from this party, have either come for talks or sent messages via emissaries to join Željko Komšić's party. The same is the case with the SDA.

In the SDP, even after the extraordinary Congress, there is dissatisfaction on the ground. Therefore, it is possible to expect that there will be more departures from this party in the coming period.
