SDP will not support drawing new maps in BiH

An extraordinary session of the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held in Sarajevo today, discussing the current political situation in our country, the party announced.

The Main Board of the SDP BiH concluded that it is necessary to decisively engage in a systemic fight against corruption by intensifying discussions with citizens, abolish all unnecessary privileges, support youth employment programs through savings, and actively fight against injustice towards the impoverished.

- The activities undertaken so far by members of the SDP BiH participating in government were assessed positively, and it was stated that the justified demands of disenfranchised citizens should be implemented as soon as possible by adopting the necessary laws and measures at all levels in BiH. It was emphasized that the package of anti-corruption laws, which is one of the demands of the citizens and the SDP, needs to be adopted and implemented as soon as possible - it was stated.

At the session, all political parties were called upon to fulfill the justified demands of the citizens as soon as possible by jointly adopting the necessary laws in the institutions of BiH. It was emphasized that politicians must listen to the messages of the citizens and act towards their solutions. It was reiterated that the citizens' dissatisfaction is justified because necessary reforms have been unnecessarily blocked in the institutions.

- Furthermore, it was emphasized that it is necessary to urgently adopt the Government of FBiH's Proposal of Amendments to the Constitution of FBiH on the non-statute of limitations for criminal offenses from the privatization process, organized and economic crime, as well as the proposal on the confiscation of illegally acquired property benefits obtained through these acts - the party stated.

The Main Board of the SDP BiH concluded that austerity measures must be implemented, meaning that the incomes of all officials must be reduced, and additional benefits abolished, with the savings obtained in this way being directed towards social and youth employment programs.

- The commitment to continue negotiations in an effort to reach a solution in the implementation of the European Court of Human Rights judgment in the case of "Sejdić-Finci" was reiterated. It was emphasized that the SDP BiH has not and will not support solutions that lead to further division and the drawing of new maps in BiH, and that the achieved solution must ensure the internal integration of BiH as the only correct path for BiH towards integration into the EU - it was concluded.
