SDP Mostar: The current HNK government must be dismissed, it has done nothing in education for four years

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, which at the end of its mandate appoints members of a joint commission, which will consist of representatives of the Government, trade unions, and experts, and which will be headed by Minister Hadžović with the aim of analyzing the situation in primary education, is a proof of the absurdity we live in and a slap in the face to all teachers, parents, and children, stated the SDP Mostar in a press release.

"It is unbelievable that we live in such an irresponsible society in which we witness that participants in discussions at the end of a mandate and four lost years agree that it is necessary to conduct an analysis as soon as possible and submit the Law on Primary Education. In this way, it has been confirmed once again that the current Government of HNK has viewed the education system all these years exclusively as a voting machine and a way to employ cadres without any interest in the system, children, and learning outcomes that future generations need. We have lost 4 years in the prime minister's marketing about scholarships, as if he were giving his own money, not the money of the citizens of the Canton who finance their children as taxpayers," the statement said.

They add that "they have not had a single reform move, except for the continuation of the building insulation project started by the previous government, and it is a disaster that during the mandate we have not had a single proposed law related to preschool, primary, and secondary education."

"In the meantime, we have received another private higher education institution with questionable personnel and logistical capacities, as a mechanism for promoting diplomas as a result of money, not knowledge. We call on the trade unions to, instead of holding the ladder for a lost government, demand from the election winners the establishment of a new government with a clear mandate program and measures in education, new cadres who have the vision and knowledge to implement them. The current representatives of the authorities have shown that they know nothing but to wander in their personal marketing, and in that process, literally throw our money away senselessly and purposelessly on political incentives, sponsoring their own corrupt processes," said the SDP Mostar statement.
