SDP: Komšić joint candidate for the Presidency, decision on the other two candidates soon

The Presidency of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session once again concluded that the civic bloc in Bosnia and Herzegovina can have a maximum of three candidates for the Presidency of BiH, including Željko Komšić as the joint candidate from the Croatian people, the SDP announced.

- Unfounded and untrue claims by certain media and political officials that the SDP BiH will independently propose three candidates were condemned. Regarding the possibilities and models of potential candidacies and candidates from the Bosniak and Serbian peoples, the SDP BiH will make a final decision in the coming days in coordination with other actors of the civic bloc.

At the session, concern was expressed that the SDA and HDZ BiH do not want any changes to the electoral legislation, because in that way the fate of forming the House of Peoples of the FBiH would remain in the hands of the Central Election Commission of BiH, over which the ruling parties have evident influence. The SDP BiH believes that a solution for amending the electoral legislation must be found as soon as possible within the institutions of BiH, with the participation of all domestic political actors and the support of the international community.

Members of the Presidency expressed concern over the rapid arming of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska. It is obvious that the authorities in this entity fear their own people and their justified rebellion due to the increasingly difficult economic situation and the general poverty faced by the population of this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina - it was stated after the session of the SDP Presidency.
