SDP: Appointment of a Chetnik duke and HDZ state auditor is a continuation of BiH's division

The appointment of a declared Chetnik duke Nikola Poplašen as a member of the Management Board of the state Agency for Higher Education and HDZ member Dragan Vrankić as Chief State Auditor, represents a new insult to a large part of BiH citizens, reports the Patria News Agency.

SDP BiH is outraged by these appointments, voted for by the SDA, HDZ, SDS, and DF coalition, and this represents another act in the process by which the current ruling coalition continues with the further destruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If these appointments are part of the much-praised Reform Agenda, then we can only guess what further reform processes await us and what impact these processes will have on the existence of our country and its institutions.

A person who has publicly declared himself a member of a criminal organization is being placed in a position that directly decides on higher education in BiH. What kind of message is being sent to students and young people in general? Furthermore, this is also a big slap in the face to the victims of the last war, as it is known that some of the most horrific crimes were committed precisely by members of the Chetnik Ravna Gora movement.

The appointment of Dragan Vrankić represents further confirmation that the HDZ, with the consent of the SDA, wants to control all state financial flows through its cadres, in order to have a clear path towards the formation of a third entity in BiH, precisely financially.

How else can we explain the fact that Vrankić, who is burdened by many financial scandals and who has held a number of political positions in the name of HDZ BiH over the past 20 years, has been appointed to this position, which is incompatible with any party affiliation? We remind the public that the Audit Office of Institutions of the FBiH has been led for over a decade by Branko Kolobarić, Dragan Čović's best man. Now, following the same scenario, the state Audit Office is also to be brought under the full control of this party.

SDP BiH will fight against these appointments with all means and, together with the academic community and other patriotic parties, will work to stop the further destruction of BiH, which has recently become rampant. We call, first and foremost, on the academic community, but also on all other citizens, to boycott the work of the Agency for Higher Education as long as a Chetnik duke sits on its Management Board, the SDP statement reads.
