SDP and LDS Sign Agreement to Support Denis Bećirović for Member of the BiH Presidency

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDP President Nermin Nikšić and LDS President Haris Redžić signed an agreement to support SDP candidate for member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović.

President of the SDP Main Board Saša Magazinović said at today's press conference that the support of the LDS for Denis Bećirović, as well as other political entities that have previously provided support to Bećirović, is only confirmation that this party made a good choice of candidate.

SDP President Nermin Nikšić shares the same opinion and is confident in Bećirović's electoral victory.

- The LDS decided to support our candidate, and I believe that on October 7 they will celebrate together with us and will be happy that they chose the right option that deserves support - Nikšić emphasized.

The first man of the liberals, Haris Redžić, believes that his party made a good choice.

- Denis Bećirović was excellent both as a pupil and as a student. As a politician, he never sided with any criminal group or individual. He always chose the interests of the state and society over his personal ones, and therefore there was no doubt that he deserves our support - Redžić stated.

Redžić added that Bećirović, through his political activities, has done more for the development of a civic BiH than many political parties.

The candidate for member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, thanked the liberals for their support, as well as other organizations and individuals who have given him support or are preparing to do so in the coming period.

- I want to say that it is an important fact that the LDS made a unanimous decision to support my candidacy. For me, this support is very important, because it is the most steadfast liberal organization in BiH and a member of the largest association of liberal parties in Europe - Bećirović said.

Bećirović also commented on media attacks by numerous media outlets close to the ruling parties.

- This morning I had the opportunity to see a media analysis of the coverage of candidates for the Presidency. The analysis shows that 95 percent of media attacks are directed at me, while five percent relate to all other opposition candidates combined. That says a lot - Bećirović emphasized.
