SDP, DF, SBB, NS: Unacceptable CEC Document on Filling the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament, This is a Blow to BiH

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A meeting of delegations from the SDP, DF, SBB, and Our Party was held at the SDP BiH headquarters regarding the imposition of a solution for filling the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SBB Vice President Adisa Omerbegović Arapović said they resolutely demand that the Central Election Commission suspend and reject the decision on filling the House of Peoples.

SDP BiH President Nermin Nikšić said it is unacceptable that certain CEC members have placed themselves above the Constitution.

- Today at the Collegium session, there was no majority to include the disputed decisions on the agenda. It is very indicative that at a time when the EU and the US Embassy are trying to persuade the parties to compromise, the CEC is undermining all of this. This is an attempt to strike at BiH, and regardless of the fact that the law states they have immunity to do this, they are exceeding their jurisdiction – Nikšić believes.

Nikšić added that they expect the High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, to speak out and react, and that the SDA should decide what they want, whether BiH or to continue siding with HDZ BiH.

- If this process in the CEC continues, we will consider withdrawing from the Parliament - Nikšić said.

DF President Željko Komšić said he is glad that the CEC Collegium refused to consider these two documents.

- Can you believe that for Goražde, no one is foreseen to enter, as if no one lives there. Who agreed on what with whom, I do not know. I call on the CEC president to say whether this was agreed upon at the meeting with Borjana Krišto. Let her come out publicly and say what is at stake. I will be glad if the people in the CEC return to constitutional action and respect the will of the citizens' elections, no matter who they elected – Komšić said.

Predrag Kojović, president of Our Party, said they reacted because it is a document that the CEC intended to adopt, which would make citizens second or third class.

- Today, besides the opposition, we also have a party from the government with us. I hope there will be more who will join. I am glad that HDZ BiH came out with this because now it is visible what they want. If we manage to stop this, it will be our victory before the final one in 2018 - Kojović said.

Representatives of all four parties had a common stance on this issue today.
