Members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP BiH) woke up Sarajevans for May Day Eve, driving and honking through neighborhoods this morning, reports Patria.
May 1st, or International Labour Day, is celebrated in commemoration of the great workers' protests held in Chicago on May 1, 1886, when several workers were killed in clashes with the police, and eight workers were sentenced to death.
Labour Day is also celebrated in all cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The SDP stated that the fight for workers' rights continues today and will continue as long as society is tailored to capital, not workers, writes Patria.
