SDP BiH Supports Citizens, SBB Will Seek Removal of Novalić and Vujanović If They Do Not Stop Price Monopoly

The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina gives full support to the justified protest of BiH citizens due to the enormous increase in fuel prices. Unfortunately, everything that SDP warned about is coming true when the excise coalition SDA HDZ SNSD SBB and HDZ 1990 assured us that there would be no increase in fuel prices and that IKEA would come to BiH.

- Not only is the price increase dramatic, but it is more than that, and IKEA still does not even consider coming to do business in BiH. At the same time, the money from increased excise duties collected from citizens sits completely unused in the accounts of the Indirect Taxation Authority and is not used at all for highway construction!?

This insolence of the authorities has crossed all boundaries. In the past four years, the government has managed to build a sidewalk in front of the building of the Presidency of BiH and not a meter of highway, although at this moment they have at least one billion KM in funds that they are not using.

Even greater insolence are the announcements and statements coming from SDA and SNSD and their representatives who are now calling on the „government“ to react! When it is time to take responsibility for catastrophic decisions, they forget that they are the government, and have been for decades, and that they should have thought about this before they decided to increase excise duties, without any measure or idea how to prevent what is happening today.

We remind SDA and SNSD that it is precisely their cadres, together with HDZ and SBB, who lead the Governments and all other institutions in BiH and that instead of playing the game of finding a scapegoat for what they are jointly responsible for, they should finally take concrete measures to mitigate the consequences of their bad decisions.

There is no point in calling on such a government to finally start building highways, because they neither know how nor want to. That will be the job of the new government led by SDP, which will continue construction where we stopped in 2014.

For the stolen four years, the excise coalition will very soon have to answer to the citizens, it was announced from SDP BiH. 

The Union for a Better Future also reacted, stating that Prime Minister Novalić must convene an emergency session of the Government of the Federation of BiH and, together with all ministers, including the relevant minister Zlatan Vujanović, urgently stop the monopolistic behavior of gas station owners. The damage to citizens is great and unnecessary, and the economy suffers enormous consequences.

- For example, the vehicles of “Avaz” travel as many as 10,500 kilometers every evening to distribute the newspaper to more than 4,000 sales points. The same applies to producers of bread, milk and many other products. If Novalić and Vujanović cannot solve this with a single order of the FBiH Government, we will seek their removal at the next session of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, scheduled for June 19 and 20 - it was announced from SBB.
