SDP BiH: SDA tycoons are getting rich at the expense of Sarajevo citizens through VIK

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Board of SDP BiH Sarajevo reacted at today's press conference to the irregularities in the work of KJKP „Vodovod i kanalizacija“ d.o.o. Sarajevo. Amendments by SDP BiH to the Bill on Police Officers of Sarajevo Canton were also presented to the public.

SDP BiH MP in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Segmedina Srna – Bajramović referred to the law on police officers, which the Government sent into procedure, stating that the Government did not respect the agreement with the police union regarding retirement conditions, which were adopted in the Federal Parliament as well as in the ZDK Assembly.

- We proposed amendments in good faith, believing that the proposer may have unintentionally forgotten to harmonize the mentioned provisions. However, the government's response was so general and unprofessional that it unfortunately confirmed that it was a deliberate intention to deceive the KS police officers. We have also prepared our commentary on the government's position, which proves that it is a deliberate intention to deceive without any serious legal and financial basis - stated Srna – Bajramović.

She also added that the current government in KS has also rejected amendments on youth employment, and has not adopted amendments to the Law on Amendments to the Law on Concessions, leaving this field legally undefined and favoring tycoon manipulations.

Finally, Srna – Bajramović added that she will insist at the session that the issue be considered, and that representatives of citizens be allowed to address the issue of the landfill in Smiljevići.

President of the Cantonal Board of SDP BiH Sarajevo Damir Mašić, speaking about the situation in the company „Vodovod i kanalizacija“, emphasized that public companies in KS have completely become party ATMs, and the most drastic example is certainly the mentioned KJKP VIK Sarajevo.

- SDP BiH requested at the last Assembly session from acting director Azra Muzur to provide data on the number of newly employed persons during her mandate. The unofficial data we have indicates that more than 150 party loyalists from the SDA list have been employed. Thanks to this, Azra Muzur has apparently bought herself a four-year mandate as director.

The procedure for her appointment is completely illegal, because Azra Muzur is an SDA candidate for the KS Assembly, and according to the Law on Public Enterprises, specifically Article 12 of this law, this is incompatible, impermissible, and illegal in the FBiH. The competition through which she was selected was initially annulled by the Supervisory Board, and then the same Supervisory Board announced that the session was not recorded, so therefore the decision to annul is not valid!? - said Mašić.

Mašić also added that certain companies such as Bihexo, owned by Bakir Izetbegović's son-in-law, and Bosnaplast, owned by Huse Ćesir, president of SDA Novi Grad, have a completely privileged treatment.

- These companies have had a monopoly in VIK (as well as other public companies in KS) for a long time, which procures pipes and other materials exclusively from them. They have already extracted tens of millions of KM from ViK, i.e., the citizens of Sarajevo Canton, especially the company Bihexo. Due to their special status, the way VIK announces tenders, and the absolute elimination of competition, VIK, i.e., citizens, pay for pipes, valves, and other materials at significantly inflated prices, while SDA tycoons get rich at their expense - said Mašić.

At the conference, it was stated that SDP BiH supports the strike of the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of KS, as well as all their legal and legitimate demands for the fulfillment of all articles of the already signed Collective Agreement.
