The Social Democratic Party of BiH will continue to fight with all legal means against the closure of the General Hospital Dr. Abdulah Nakaš, because by closing it, SDA and its political satellites are directly acting against the interests of the citizens, primarily of Sarajevo, but also of other citizens of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
- SDA is demonstrating power and using its rich experience of "voluntary relocation". Namely, although there is no formal decision on the abolition of the General Hospital in Sarajevo, its closure has begun by forcing doctors and other employees to voluntarily submit "requests" to transfer to the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo.
Such a move by the ruling structures is unprecedented, as nowhere in the world have hospital premises been converted into offices for state administration. In this way, SDA shows that nothing is sacred to them, not even the General Hospital as a symbol of resistance and defiance, which centuries of occupations, world wars, the aggression against BiH, and more than 600 shells that fell on its building could not destroy.
SDA, the family of their president, and their political allies now want to close it, even though it is one of the best healthcare institutions in BiH, into whose facilities and equipment tens of millions of convertible marks were invested after the war, and which, by operating throughout the war, defied the aggressor's desire to destroy life in Sarajevo. All of this is irrelevant to SDA compared to the need to satisfy the personal ambitions of Bakir Izetbegović's wife.
In its desire to get its hands on the IMF money as soon as possible, agreeing to all conditions, the government, with the infamous Reform Agenda, promised international financial institutions to reduce GDP spending on the healthcare system, which represents another blow to the quality of life of citizens in FBiH. As we are witnessing these days, the first victim of these promises is the Sarajevo General Hospital. There are healthcare institutions throughout FBiH that are much more in need of rationalization and business assistance. It is not disputed that rationalization in the healthcare of the Federation of BiH must occur, but the General Hospital in Sarajevo and its thousands of patients must by no means be the victim of that rationalization.
In order to stop speculations about SDP's alleged financial interest, we call on the FBiH Government to vacate our premises as soon as possible. We have no doubt that there are many facilities in Sarajevo that can meet the needs of the federal government, and that these are neither the SDP building nor the General Hospital building.
