SDP BiH Condemns Hate Speech, Discrimination and Threats of Violence

(Patria) - The Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns hate speech, discrimination and threats of violence in connection with the organization of the first Bosnian-Herzegovinian Pride Parade. We insist on the implementation of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination and criminal laws in BiH, and we demand an adequate response from judicial institutions regarding attacks on organizers.

"Through the implementation of its ideological and political program and capacities in government institutions, SDP BiH will uncompromisingly advocate for the equality and equal rights of all citizens of BiH. Starting from the European Convention on Human Rights and Freedoms, as well as constitutional provisions on human rights and freedoms, SDP BiH places at the center of its political activity the legal regulation of human rights and freedoms and their consistent implementation.

The project of developing Bosnia and Herzegovina on the principles of Western European experience of democratic socialism, for SDP BiH implies respect for both political and social rights of all and full respect for justice and equality as its fundamental values.

Our goal is a society without superiority and subordination, without patriarchy, racism, homophobia and transphobia, a society without prejudice and discrimination. We do not tolerate discrimination based on sex, age, disability, skin color, ethnicity, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation or anything else that makes us equal human beings - whether at work, in leisure time, at school, at home or elsewhere," the SDP stated.
