SDA wants to secure support for its proposal under the guise of the Council of Bosniak Intellectuals

Last night, a semi-open gathering was held at the Student Hotel in Mostar, organized by the Mostar branch of the Council of the Congress of Bosniak Intellectuals, where the city organization of SDA Mostar presented its view of the solution for Mostar, announced the SDP Mostar City Committee, as reported by the Patria news agency.

- The method of distributing invitations clearly indicates that some individuals, organizations, and political parties were unwelcome. This unequivocally shows that SDA Mostar wanted to hear only like-minded people at this gathering and present it as Bosniak unity. The proposal presented offers nothing new compared to the solution already presented in the media.

The proposer, in their proposal, cleverly played with the names of administrative units, which essentially means a division into two ethnic municipalities, no matter what they are called. We still maintain the position that such a proposal to divide Mostar into ethnic "municipalities" is a precedent in recent European history and represents a gross violation of European principles and charters on local self-government and civil rights.

We are also convinced that this proposal is a continuation of the policy of marginalizing the third constituent people for the sake of the narrow party interests of the ruling political parties HDZ and SDA, and represents yet another in a series of deceptions of the general public and citizens of Mostar, seriously calling into question the basic values of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society.

We hope that the wider public and citizens of Mostar will recognize and thwart the political egoism of SDA, which, under the pretext of protecting Bosniak interests, aims to organize an HDZ and SDA municipality, thereby irreversibly dividing Mostar and destroying its centuries-old spirit. We wish to point out that Mostar did not emerge with the appearance of SDA and HDZ, so we call on the citizens of Mostar to support our proposal, which we presented in a very clear and transparent manner, offering all citizens and constituent peoples equal rights and opportunities, and Mostar as a city real prerequisites for prosperous development - the statement reads.
