SDA: Trojka and HDZ unlawfully trying to take control of Federal Television, we are filing an appeal with the Constitutional Court of FBiH

(Patria) - By announcing a competition through which they want to appoint the Management Board of Federal Television in violation of the law, the Trojka and HDZ are attempting to use legal violence to take control of a television that is part of the public service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced the opposition SDA.

"According to the well-known SDP mantra - 'it's not according to the law, but we are in a hurry,' the current government wants to install its loyalists in the management and editorial structure of FTV. They did the same in the earlier period when they were in power, when the management and editorial structure of FTV consisted mostly of SDP cadres. The truth is that this structure has not changed significantly in recent years, so SDP has the least right to be dissatisfied with the work and editorial policy of this media house.

However, it is obvious that the appetites of NIP and Our Party, and especially HDZ, also need to be satisfied, so a competition for the selection of four members of the Management Board was announced outside the law. This violates the legal provision on appointing one member of the Management Board each year.

The attack on FTV was earlier announced by the president of NIP, Elmedin Konaković, threatening that the situation and problems of financing public media services, FTV and BHRT, will be resolved only when cadres are installed 'who work as the policies of the Trojka demand from them.'

SDA has many reasons to be dissatisfied with the editorial policies of numerous media outlets, but it remains firmly committed to the principle that public media services must serve the citizens who finance them, not the government or any political party.

Therefore, SDA will use legal means, through an appeal by an authorized proposer to the Constitutional Court of FBiH, to oppose the intentions of the Trojka and HDZ to take control of FTV," stated SDA.
