SDA: Prevent the violence of Dodik's politics against truth, laws, and people

The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) announced that the politics of Milorad Dodik, which is essentially violent, has culminated in recent months and threatens to endanger peace and cause new suffering.

The assault on the constitutional and legal order, the blockade of state institutions, the announcement of the formation of para-institutions in the RS entity, nationalist and chauvinistic rhetoric, daily insults against Bosniaks, discrimination and incitement, glorification of war crimes, denial of genocide, are all violence against the Constitution, laws, but also against the truth and lives of people in BiH.

"While doing all this, Dodik, together with a part of the political establishment in Belgrade, following a propaganda matrix already seen in the 90s, accuses Bosniaks of hatred and unitarism, and representatives of the democratic civilized world of a 'conspiracy against Serbs'," the SDA stated.

A functional state of BiH, the rule of law, democratic standards, tolerance, understanding, and cooperation advocated by the SDA, along with the vast majority of other political parties, are not directed against Serbs, nor can they be a threat to Serbs.

"On the contrary, they can only benefit them, as well as every citizen of BiH. On the other hand, Dodik's politics, which is against everyone who is not a Serb, is a threat to everyone, not only in BiH but also in the region. In recent days, we have witnessed organized clerical-nationalist rampage in several BiH cities, shooting in front of a mosque, insults and threats to Bosniaks living in the RS entity. These events, which herald new violence, are a consequence of precisely such Dodik's politics," it was announced.

The SDA calls on the president and leadership of SNSD to cease their secessionist policy and attacks on the constitutional and legal order of BiH, the blockade of state institutions, the glorification of war criminals, xenophobic incitement rhetoric, and the undermining of the Dayton Peace Agreement, thereby endangering the stability and peace in the country.

The SDA demands that the authorities in the RS entity effectively protect returnees and urgently fill police units with personnel of Bosniak and Croatian nationality in accordance with the Constitution and laws, i.e., the Census.

"We request that until the personnel is filled, a multi-ethnic composition of security agencies from the state level be engaged in these tasks, in cooperation with EUFOR representatives."

The SDA welcomes the clear messages from the State Department, the EU and its member states, Great Britain, as well as the European People's Party group, which provide full support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of BiH, and condemn the secessionist and anti-constitutional policy of the RS authorities, the denial of genocide, the glorification of war crimes, and incitement rhetoric.

"We assess that the sanctions imposed by the US on Milorad Dodik were necessary, but that they must be expanded and supported by the European Union, Great Britain, and other democratic countries."

The SDA calls on the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) to fulfill their mandates, regardless of the risks, and to decisively oppose the attacks on BiH led by Milorad Dodik. Any hesitation, calculation, or inaction represents a far greater risk and can only further encourage the secessionist policy of SNSD and push the entire region into destabilization with unforeseeable consequences.

The SDA calls on Serbia, as a signatory, to fully respect the Dayton Peace Agreement and to withdraw support from the policy pursued by Milorad Dodik, rather than encouraging him with the presence of the entire government at the unconstitutional day of the RS entity.

The SDA demands that the BiH Prosecutor's Office and Court urgently prosecute all those who participate in anti-constitutional attacks on BiH, deny genocide, and provoke national, religious, and racial hatred, discord, and intolerance with their statements and actions. The indecisiveness of the BiH judiciary, combined with the mild reactions of the international community representatives responsible for monitoring the implementation of the Dayton Agreement, has led to the growth of arrogance and audacity of the SNSD president and his associates, which has culminated in recent months.

The SDA calls on the responsible leaders in state institutions to carry out proceedings against officials and employees who participated in the marking of the unconstitutional day of the RS entity.

"The president and vice-presidents of the SDA will intensify visits to returnee communities in the RS entity and provide direct support to returnees on the ground, and will do everything to ensure their safety."

The SDA calls on all political factors who care about peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina to jointly and organizedly stop the SNSD's policy, which jeopardizes peace, stability, and equality of peoples and citizens.

"We call on all officials and employees in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to do their jobs in accordance with the Constitution and laws of BiH in order to unblock the work of the institutions."

The SDA calls on the citizens of BiH to respond to the provocations and lies that the SNSD president and his associates produce daily with truth, calmness, and wisdom.

"The political and diplomatic struggle for the state is intensifying, and its winner will be Bosnia and Herzegovina and its peoples and citizens," it was announced.
