SDA, SBB, DF and SDP in Zvornik to Have Joint Candidate for Mayor

The First March coalition will send an invitation today to the municipal boards of SDA, DF and SDP BiH in Bratunac to enter the upcoming local elections in the Republic of Srpska with a joint candidate.

Edin Ikanović from the First March coalition told the Bosnian news agency Patria that SDA, SBB, DF and SDP have already announced that in the 2016 local elections in Zvornik they will field a joint candidate for mayor as well as joint candidates for the municipal council, and that the First March will send the same invitation today to Bosniak parties in Bratunac, and next week to parties in Srebrenica.

- Bosniak parties in the RS have a chance in the upcoming elections only if they run with a joint candidate - said Ikanović.

- If those parties run individually, it is unlikely that any of them can achieve good results - added Ikanović.

He recalled that the idea of a united list proved successful for Bosniak returnees in the RS back in the case of the Homeland last year, when united parties representing returnees won five seats in the National Assembly of the RS, Patria reports.
