SDA with SNSD and HDZ: In Sarajevo talks about the number of ministers, in Mostar about the distribution of portfolios

(Patria) - Delegations of HDZ BiH and SDA will meet today in Mostar, where they will discuss the formation of the government. The SDA delegation will be led by Bakir Izetbegović, the party president, and will include Šefik Džaferović and Halid Genjac.

The meeting will be held at the HDZ headquarters in Mostar starting at 12:30 PM, and statements to the media are planned for 2:00 PM. SDA is playing on „two fronts“ today, given that a meeting of SDA and SNSD delegations has been announced in Sarajevo. In Sarajevo, the host of the meeting will be the Deputy President of SDA Adil Osmanović, and with him in the team are SDA Vice Presidents Denis Zvizdić and Edin Ramić.

In Mostar, they will discuss the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the participation of DF in the government, and the distribution of portfolios, while in Sarajevo the hot topics include the adoption of the Annual National Plan and the fact that SNSD wants three ministries and the chairperson, which SDA absolutely does not want to give.

Dragan Čović (HDZ) stated before the meeting that he hopes the talks he had with Milorad Dodik, and those he will have today with Bakir Izetbegović, will result in the urgent formation of a new Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bakir Izetbegović announced two days ago that with the inclusion of DF, this process can be initiated in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When asked whether he expects more partners in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he replied that it depends on them. When asked when the Council of Ministers will be formed, he said that negotiations are ongoing and that SNSD needs to accept that SDA, as the numerically strongest party, must have the largest number of ministries. 

Milorad Dodik, however, does not agree to this distribution and believes that SNSD is entitled to the chairperson and three ministerial positions in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that SDA and HDZ should each receive three ministries.
