SDA: Reform of the Constitutional Court is a change to Dayton, there are no blackmails by which the RS can achieve this

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) said that the announcement by political representatives from the RS entity that they will not participate in the work of state institutions represents a classic form of political bullying.

"The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a Dayton category, as is the very existence of the entities, and any unilateral challenge to the Constitutional Court actually represents a unilateral violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and an attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina," they stated.

The SDA called on institutions of the international community, as well as all patriotic forces in BiH, to oppose such unilateral moves from the RS entity that threaten political and overall social stability in BiH.

"Any reform of the Constitutional Court means a reform of Dayton and it is only possible if all parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina reach a consensus, with the consent of the international community. Any other attempt to change Dayton, especially one based on ultimatums and blackmail, is doomed to failure from the start," they added.

They stressed that the foreign judges are not appointed by the SDA or Bosniaks, but by the President of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, in accordance with Article 6 of Annex IV of the Dayton Agreement.

"It is obvious that the problem of the parties from the RS entity with foreign judges is actually a problem with European principles and the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, which these judges implement. Calls from the RS entity for foreign judges to withdraw from the Constitutional Court of BiH before the mandate of the OHR and PIC and the comprehensive implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement ends represent an absolutely unfounded demand, and there are no blackmails by which it could pass," they concluded.
