SDA calls on pro-Bosnian parties to consider abandoning negotiations on the Election Law

(Patria) - The adoption of the conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) by which Dodik unilaterally announces the formation of parainstitutions and the destruction of the Dayton Peace Agreement, the continuous attack on the constitutional and legal order of BiH, the blockade of state institutions and threats of secession, and on the other hand, the lack of a decisive reaction from international representatives to these moves, require a unified, concrete, and decisive political response from pro-Bosnian political forces, the SDA announced.

"Such an approach is also needed in discussions about the reform of the BiH Constitution and election legislation, as well as a joint response to the dilemma of whether to discuss this topic at all until the work of state institutions is unblocked and the attack on the constitutional and legal order is stopped.

Political parties from the pro-Bosnian bloc, which together have more than 800,000 votes and almost 60 percent of the votes in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, must set aside any individual party interest in this situation and show maturity and unity. Relevant actors from the intellectual, professional, and media communities should also show such an approach. This is rightly expected by the vast majority of citizens of our homeland. Our message of unity and strength will reduce the chances of bad scenarios and discourage the forces that are attacking BiH, and at the same time, it will be a clear message to friends in the international community.

Therefore, it is necessary in the coming days, through open dialogue of all relevant actors, to coordinate the activities of the pro-Bosnian bloc and take joint steps. It is completely irrelevant who will formally initiate the talks and where they will be held, nor should they be used for any particular political interests. To avoid any doubts on this issue, the SDA proposes that the meetings be formally convened by the members of the Presidency of BiH.

In the protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina, its constitutional and legal order and institutions, there should be no division between the government and the opposition, because these are fateful issues that concern every citizen of this country, as well as the generations that come after us, the SDA announced.
