SDA: We call on EU member states to support the US and impose sanctions on officials

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) welcomes the decision of the United States administration to sanction Milorad Dodik for corrupt activities and threats to the stability and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The SDA statement states that they also welcome sanctions against other individuals and legal entities involved in corruption.

It is added that timely and comprehensive sanctions represent an adequate response to attempts to undermine the Dayton Peace Agreement and endanger peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

"This decision sends a clear and unambiguous message to all those who endanger peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina with their unconstitutional and illegal activities, and who, through corrupt practices, threaten the strengthening of the rule of law and economic development.

We also call on other countries, especially member states of the European Union, to support the activities of the US administration, and to impose sanctions themselves on officials responsible for undermining the constitutional and legal order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as their political and business associates involved in corruption," the SDA announced.
