SDA withdraws public reprimand of Mehmedović, he says Presidency finally corrected a mistake

At today's session of the SDA Presidency, a decision was made to revoke the public reprimand of Šemsudin Mehmedović, a Member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament and the leader of SDA Tešanj, which was issued in April of this year.

SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, responding to a question from Patria journalists about whether this means that MP Mehmedović remains part of the SDA Club in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, gave an interesting answer:

- He remained part of it the whole time. He never left that club, of course – said Izetbegović.

We remind you that the SDA Presidency issued a public reprimand to Mehmedović on April 24, and Senad Šepić, Salko Sokolović, and Sadik Ahmetović were expelled from the SDA for voting against the SDA Club on the excise tax law.

Mehmedović played it smart by claiming he would act according to his conscience and would not join the Independent Bloc in the BiH Parliament. On the other hand, the SDA leadership could not ignore the fact that Mehmedović has the unconditional support of SDA Tešanj. Izetbegović previously stated that he believes misunderstandings with Mehmedović will not be repeated.

Mehmedović previously stated that he was offended by the public reprimand, and in a reaction after learning that the reprimand was withdrawn, he said that the SDA Presidency had obviously corrected a mistake it had made.

- It was high time for the SDA Presidency to make such a decision – Mehmedović told Patria.
