SDA: OHR and PIC passivity opens space for new momentum of separatist activities

(Patria) - SDA believes that in yesterday's statement by the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council, following an extraordinary session, certain progress was made in understanding the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that the PIC once again failed to muster the strength to tell the whole truth and take concrete measures, which their mandate obliges them to do.

“Such an attitude of the PIC, which has been ongoing for a decade, in which responsibility is artificially distributed according to an unfair 'three sides' matrix – has enabled the preservation of systematic discrimination against Bosniaks and Croats in the BiH entity of RS.

The apartheid situation established by the authorities of the RS entity, and the discriminatory attitude they have towards members of other constituent peoples, is completely unacceptable.

It is unacceptable and irresponsible that the international community persistently tolerates the existence of a system based on the violation of the Constitution and the idea of ethnic superiority, so that the majority Serb people are guaranteed a privileged status, while all others are denied basic rights and are subjected to discrimination and humiliation,” the SDA stated.

“The passivity and indecisiveness of the OHR and PIC unfortunately opens space for new momentum of separatist and anti-Dayton activities, which can lead Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the entire region, into a state of crisis and uncertainty.

Experience shows that 'sharp condemnations' and 'expressing concern' are not enough and that they only encourage destructive forces that attack the constitutional order and endanger peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The OHR and PIC must take action and fulfill their mandate obligations in a timely manner, prevent discrimination, and stop the attacks on Bosnia and Herzegovina and the increasingly evident endangerment of peace,” the party concluded, reports NAP.
