SDA: Constitutional Court's decision expected, we call on RS authorities to respect the Constitution and Dayton

Today's decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH is expected. It is completely clear that there were no new circumstances that could affect the Constitutional Court of BiH's decision declaring January 9th unconstitutional. Therefore, it is quite logical that the Constitutional Court of BiH rejected the request for a review of its earlier decision, the SDA announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- Also, it is quite clear that the Decision of the National Assembly of RS on the referendum scheduled for September 25th is in line with violating the Constitutional Court of BiH's decision on the unconstitutionality of January 9th, not its implementation. The adoption of a temporary measure suspending the referendum is also logical.

The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) calls on everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the authorities in the RS entity, to respect the BiH Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement. We call on BiH institutions and the international community to protect the authority of the Constitutional Court of BiH, i.e., to protect the BiH Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Bakir Izetbegović, president of the SDA, said that he hopes Dodik will abandon the referendum because, after the Constitutional Court's decision to introduce a temporary measure, continuing activities on organizing the referendum represents an unambiguous violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and a criminal offense of opposing the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which can be sanctioned by Article 239 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

Izetbegović said that the announcements by Mladen Ivanić that in case of rejection of the RS authorities' request, there will be an "unprecedented" deterioration of the situation surprise him.
