SDA will never accept any constitutional reforms that would lead the country into further divisions

The Presidency of the SDA concluded at today's session that it rejects as unacceptable the positions presented at the 7th session of the HNS, which advocate for additional ethnic and territorial divisions in BiH.

- SDA will never accept any constitutional reforms that would lead the country into further divisions. Only those reforms that will reintegrate BiH and lead such a reintegrated country into the EU, and which will ensure the equality of all peoples and citizens throughout the entire territory of BiH, are possible.

The positions of the HNS are in line with the policy of unrealistic maximalist demands; they undermine the constitutional structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina established by the Dayton Peace Agreement, and thus the stability, reform, and European path of BiH.

The concepts of federalization and decentralization in the sense of European standards are absolutely acceptable: however, their interpretation in the advocacy of HDZ BiH is unacceptable and has far-reaching negative consequences. Federalization according to the interpretation of HDZ BiH means deepening discrimination and additional ethnic and territorial divisions.

For SDA, it is unacceptable that the Resolution on BiH in the European Parliament contains any formulations that invoke new ethnic and territorial divisions or emphasize the ethnic principle at the expense of the civic one, and the “federalism” that fuels the unrealistic aspirations of HDZ BiH is precisely such a formulation.

The federalism mentioned in the amendments of some parliamentarians from the Republic of Croatia is actually an invocation of the division of BiH along ethnic lines, which was not achieved even by war means.

Such formulations can only harm the European path of BiH and shake the trust of the majority of citizens in the EU.

The Presidency of the SDA strongly condemns the organized brutal attack on state officials and party officials that occurred on January 29 this year in Srebrenica. This attack is shameful and represents an anti-civilizational act that is contrary to the spirit of democracy and the essence of the Bosniak people.

The Presidency of the SDA demands from the competent authorities that, within their legal powers and obligations, they investigate and prosecute all persons who participated in the organization and execution of the physical attack on the state minister and president of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, as well as on the state deputy in the House of Representatives of BiH. An urgent and efficient investigation should result in the discovery and sanctioning of both the perpetrators and the instigators.

The Presidency of the SDA will conduct an internal investigation to determine the responsibility of party members who participated in this attack. After establishing the facts, the party bodies will take appropriate measures in accordance with the Party Statute.

The Presidency of the SDA will, after completing all collected information, make a decision on the exclusion from the Party of all actors who participated in the organization and execution of the attempt to overturn the Decision of the Presidency of the SDA on the introduction of a trusteeship in the SDA Municipal Board Srebrenica.

The Presidency of the SDA strongly condemns the procedure of HDZ BiH and opposition parties in the House of Peoples of the Parliament of F BiH, which led to the non-adoption of the reform Law on the Pension System.

By voting for an unrealistic and unenforceable amendment, HDZ BiH and opposition political parties brought down the reform law, which was supposed to bring more justice to the pension system and ensure its sustainability and stability.

We demand from the Government of FBiH to put this law back into parliamentary procedure, and we expect all political parties to take care of the interests of pensioners, rather than political narrow party interests - the SDA announced.
