SDA is not what it used to be: Major and key party decisions are made in cafes

A regular session of the Main Board of the Party of Democratic Action will be held in Sarajevo on Friday, January 9. This week, before the Main Board session, sessions of the Collegium and the party Presidency must also be held, where the candidates for the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH and the Vice President of the Federation of BiH will be considered, and which will be confirmed by the Main Board, the Patria News Agency has learned.

Between the Collegium and Presidency sessions, the Cadre Commission will also meet. According to the latest information, the candidates for Prime Minister will be Fadil Novalić and Erdal Trhulj. Deputy SDA President Bakir Izetbegović's favorite is Novalić, although a number of Presidency members are for Trhulj.

When it comes to the position of Vice President of the FBiH, Izetbegović's closest associate Aljoša Čampara is vying for that position. According to our sources from the top of the SDA, he is now trying to push himself from the comfortable "non-working" position of Deputy Mayor of the City of Sarajevo to a similarly obligation- and responsibility-free position of Vice President of the Federation, where he is guaranteed a good salary and not much responsibility is required.

Our interlocutor from the SDA tells us that in this way, Čampara, if he passes as a candidate, will simply continue the current practice of holding political meetings in cafes, at Metropolis or at the BBI Center, where key and major party decisions have been made for a long time.

- Literally like children when they sit down and argue about who will take which position, while doing as little as possible. Why don't they take ministries for veterans' affairs or displaced persons, where they have to put in effort and work, but they only look at these comfortable seats, to have functions, and do nothing - says our interlocutor.
