SDA dissatisfied with Debevec's election as President of the Court of BiH: National balance violated

SDA is not satisfied with the election of Ranko Debevec as President of the Court of BiH. This party believes that this act has violated the national balance in the judicial institutions of BiH.

Šefik Džaferović, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH and a high-ranking SDA official, believes that great responsibility now lies with the HJPC, because, Džaferović claims, the HJPC has grossly violated the way BiH functions.

- The national balance in the judicial institutions of BiH has been disrupted, the Constitution of BiH and the Election Law of BiH have been violated – said Džaferović.

On the other hand, commenting on a journalist's question about the election of the new President of the Court of BiH, Damir Arnaut, an SBB delegate in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, said that the most important thing in this process is that it has been shown that BiH's institutions are functioning.

- I would not like to comment on any individual candidate. But, I can say that I am glad that the system in BiH is functioning, that institutions are functioning in the way they are supposed to function and that the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council has done its task and job. I hope we are entering a new era when it comes to the judiciary in BiH, that we will no longer have political pressures on the judiciary, that there will be no more pressures from political parties on who should be elected President of the Court, in short, all the inappropriate things we have seen in recent days. I hope that this has now come to an end and that we are now entering a new era of truly independent judiciary in BiH - said Arnaut, NAP reports.
