(Patria) - A few days after a shooting occurred near Hotel "Europe" in the very core of Sarajevo, today a brutal murder was committed on the city's most famous promenade, in broad daylight.
"Mafia-style showdowns and cold-blooded ambushes have become a recognizable feature of Sarajevo, whose citizens are daily showered with bullets, in the busiest areas and at any time of day.
This is the result of years of work, various measures, moves and strategies for improving security, which the Sarajevo Canton Government and the relevant minister Admir Katica 'wave' in public.
Criminal wars are raging in Sarajevo, daily threatening the lives of its citizens, pedestrians, schoolchildren, tourists.
No statistics, assessments of subjective perception of security, or emergency sessions help.
Maybe buying a helicopter will help? Maybe 30 million KM spent on that item yield a better result for the safety of citizens than strengthening human resources and procuring police equipment?
Maybe, instead of the cartel, the law will prevail in Sarajevo? Maybe," the Cantonal Organization of SDA Sarajevo stated tonight.
