(Patria) - Milorad Dodik's interview for Lindell TV, in which he makes unbelievable accusations against Bosniaks, is a continuation of a planned campaign to present Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosniaks as a security problem and a threat to the West.
The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) has been warning for a long time about attempts to fabricate this narrative.
"Dodik does not spread lies by accident, nor 'for domestic consumption'. He consciously targets the international public, trying to justify his secessionist policy and cover up his own role in destabilizing Bosnia and Herzegovina through deceptions about the past and present.
Dodik has already deceived US officials once, and he paid for that underestimation. He ended up on the State Department's 'black list', confirmed by both Democratic and Republican administrations. Now he has brazenly assessed that he can buy the favor of officials and the dignity of the world's strongest democracy with money.
Concentration camps and camps for children were not 'organized by Muslims', but by the military and political leadership of Republika Srpska, which invoked 'Christian values' while committing crimes against people of all faiths and nations. Such ideologies and policies, which Milorad Dodik, as the successor to Radovan Karadžić, promotes today, expelled all Muslims and all Catholics in the creation of Republika Srpska, destroyed their places of worship, and committed mass crimes, including genocide against Bosniaks.
Dodik is trying to revive that toxic pattern again today, to demonize Bosniaks, to relativize and swap the roles of victim and perpetrator, and to portray Bosnia and Herzegovina as an impossible state. Support for Dodik in his new attack on Bosnia and Herzegovina leads to the renewal of conflict in the Balkans.
Attempts to create such a narrative will not bear fruit. The truth about Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosniak people, about the anti-fascist tradition and about the defense of the country from aggression cannot be erased by lobbying performances and lies on camera, despite the passivity and ignorance of those who currently hold positions in power on behalf of Bosniaks. Silence in the face of such statements is not 'wisdom' or 'diplomacy', but cowardice and complicity in lies.
Milorad Dodik's speech is not a 'political stance' but a criminal offense. The Criminal Code of BiH stipulates sanctions for those who publicly incite or spread national, racial, or religious hatred, discord, or intolerance among peoples and others in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We demand that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH react immediately and, based on clear evidence, file an indictment and sanction the former president of the RS entity," stated the SDA.
