SDA buys time before meeting with the quartet: Šepić receives pre-expulsion measure!

The meeting of the SDA working group, consisting of Safet Softić, Adil Osmanović, Denis Zvizdić and Asim Sarajlić, which was supposed to hold talks with the quartet from the State Parliament that left the SDA Club (Senad Šepić, Salko Sokolović, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Sadik Ahmetović), will not take place before December 22, as Softić is on an official visit to Iran, Patria reports.

Many respected SDA members see this situation as buying time and preparing the ground for the Working Group, because the quartet announced five days ago that they were leaving the Club. The weekend also passed without any concrete moves, with the „preparation“ ordered by the SDA leadership reflected in the fact that a group of people in the Executive Committee of SDA Cazin imposed a pre-expulsion measure on Šepić yesterday at an emergency session with a single agenda item. Šepić was not informed about this, even though he is a member of that same Executive Committee!

Passions within the party have been stirred, especially after increasingly loud talk about the possibility of holding an extraordinary Congress, which was confirmed to Patria by Osman Brka, who has been a member of all convocations of the Main Board since the party's founding, in which he also participated.

 - I truly believe that there are many problems in the party, and to solve them it is necessary to organize an extraordinary Congress – Brka points out.

This opinion is shared by a large number of respected party members, but there has been no reaction from the party leadership so far.

The quartet from the Parliament had previously addressed President Bakir Izetbegović on several occasions, openly pointing out the state of SDA and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the circumstances and framework in which the 6th SDA Congress was organized and held, where numerous irregularities occurred, wishing to prevent such things in the future, which are demands of the numerous SDA membership, and to strengthen the political position of SDA in the future.

Among other things, they proposed internal democratization of the Party and elections based on the principle of one member - one vote.

This would enable all Party members to have the right to vote and to elect their leadership - from local committees, through municipalities and cantons/regions, to the highest bodies and the President of SDA BiH. This implies establishing a clear membership base and ending the manipulation of it, as was the case at the last SDA Congress when selected Party members at various levels were allowed to vote, while others were denied this right.

- We remind you that this principle was adopted at the SDA Convention in 2013. At that time, an obligation was established to enable this principle of voting within the SDA by the next Congress (2015). Unfortunately, the current leadership, which prepared the 2015 Congress, ignored that obligation - and now is the time to sort it out. This would also imply a clear definition of the following principles:

- principle of transparency

- introduction of measurable criteria for party positions

- electoral legitimacy and respect for territorial coverage of the entire BiH

- principle of responsibility for the election result, and preservation and increase of the number of votes in elections, as well as the number of mandates that each top party official at every level assumes at the time of election to that position

- determine the percentage of decline in results that obligatorily, according to the Statute, requires offering the mandate for disposal, and when mandatory dismissal due to a decline in results (proposal - over 10% decline in results - mandatory dismissal and extraordinary elections at that level of the Party organization within 30 days)

- principle of equal opportunities and trust in the electoral process within the SDA - every candidate for leadership positions within the SDA (president, deputy president and vice-presidents) at all levels has the right to propose their representative to the electoral commission that conducts the electoral process at that level of voting.

In this way, we would prevent electoral theft and rigging of results for "selected" candidates, as was unfortunately the case at the last Congress, especially in the part of counting votes for vice-presidents and members of the SDA Main Board. It is necessary to restore trust in a fair and transparent electoral process in which the party will be managed by those who truly have the greatest support of the membership and the people they represent – the parliamentarians warned.
