SDA loses the position of Mayor of Zenica after 12 years: Kasumović leads in all polls

The Party of Democratic Action (SDA) could lose the position of Mayor of Zenica for the first time after 12 years. Conducted polls have shown that the people of Zenica trust independent candidate Fuad Kasumović the most, writes Patria.

- Villages deserve more! I will use my connections, high rating with international officials, and the readiness of friendly countries to attract foreign investors to Zenica – Kasumović said.

- I promise domestic businessmen every kind of facilitation – he added.

In his first pre-election speeches, Kasumović said that the priority of his work as mayor will be new jobs, employment for young people, demobilized fighters, and he will do everything to provide for people nearing retirement by connecting their work experience.

Fuad Kasumović has nearly 30 years of experience in finance. Over the last 20 years, he has held almost all important financial positions in the country.

Kasumović was born in 1958 in Gornji Vakuf. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics in 1987, he was employed at the Coal Mine "Gračanica" in his hometown, and soon became the financial director of this company. He worked at the Mine until the beginning of the war in 1992. During the war, he was a member of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Kasumović began his political career in 1996, when he was appointed Minister of Finance in the Central Bosnia Canton. From 1998, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Customs Administration of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the establishment of the Indirect Taxation Authority in 2004, Kasumović was appointed advisor to the director for international cooperation. Three years later, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Finance of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was also on the Supervisory Board of the Development Bank of FBiH, writes Patria.
