SDA: Dodik's regime will endanger peace, time for a decisive and united response

(Patria) - The proposal for a new constitution of the RS, which would declare this entity a sovereign state with the right to secede from Bosnia and Herzegovina, represents the most direct violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and an attack on the constitutional order and territorial integrity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the SDA announced.

"The dismantling of the peace agreement will inevitably lead to the dismantling of peace, with a chain reaction throughout the region.

By accelerating the implementation of the Greater Serbian policy articulated in the declarations of the SNSD and the All-Serbian Assembly, Dodik is trying to save himself and his business empire. In doing so, he is dragging the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina into the abyss with him. Through his arrogance and selfishness over the past two decades, Dodik has gradually been dragging the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region into a renewal of conflicts that we left behind three decades ago.

He must be stopped in this. There must be no further retreat or concessions to Dodik, because they have brought us to this state. The international community, led by the states witnesses to Dayton and the OHR, should not have encouraged Dodik through their inaction, and often concessions. The Bosnian judiciary should not have backed down before him and tolerated unconstitutional referendums, attacks on the constitutional order, and crime. The Troika should not have deceived both themselves and the people by claiming that 'Dodik has changed,' nor should they have handed over the entire security sector to him or financially strengthened him.

The time for indecision, concessions, and futile statements is over. The laws of BiH must be applied equally to everyone, including Dodik and his associates.

All factors that wish to preserve peace and stability, starting from the institutions of BiH, especially the judiciary and police agencies, through the international community, including NATO/EUFOR, to all pro-Bosnian forces and the opposition from the RS, which, aware of the consequences of his moves, has bravely opposed him, must provide a united and decisive response and preserve peace," the SDA announced.
