SDA: Dodik ready to endanger peace, but also to send young Serbs to prison

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik's announcement that the possibility of "young people from RS serving in the Serbian army" is being considered is a continuation of the Greater Serbian secessionist policy defined by the SANU II Memorandum and the Declaration of the All-Serbian Assembly. This aggressive policy, which seeks to portray the RS entity as part of Serbia, is a threat to peace, the SDA announced.

"Furthermore, in this case, Dodik's announcements are also a threat to young Serbs from the RS entity, whom Dodik could send to prison with his actions.

Namely, the Criminal Code and the Law on Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina prohibit citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina from any participation in foreign military formations.

Article 51 of the Law on Defense clearly states: "Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose place of residence is in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including those with dual citizenship, are prohibited from serving in the military and undergoing training as recruits in the armed forces of other countries".

The Criminal Code is also clear, specifically Article 162.b, which prescribes rigorous prison sentences for organizers of departure, as well as for those who join foreign formations.

Paragraph one states: Whoever, contrary to the Law on Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina or the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, organizes, leads, trains, equips, or mobilizes individuals or groups of people with the aim of joining, in any way, a foreign military, foreign paramilitary, or foreign parapolice formation operating outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, shall be punished with a prison sentence of at least eight years, and in paragraph two: Whoever joins, in any way, a foreign military, foreign paramilitary, or foreign parapolice formation, trained, equipped, or mobilized within the meaning of paragraph (1) of this Article, shall be punished with a prison sentence of at least three years.

Therefore, if he attempts in any way to organize the departure of young people from the RS entity to serve in the Serbian Army, Dodik faces a prison sentence of at least eight years, and those who might possibly obey him, with a prison sentence of at least three years," the SDA concludes.
