SDA: Appeal to the Constitutional Court of BiH and criminal charges over the curriculum in the RS entity that glorifies war criminals

(Patria) - The curriculum in the RS entity, which stipulates that primary school children learn how Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić are heroes and which completely distorts historical facts, is a new anti-civilisational act of the authorities of the RS entity.

This is a continuation of the aggressive Greater Serbian policy, which is now being transferred to children through school as well. The consequences of such actions need no special explanation to any reasonable person.

The Office of the High Representative is obliged to react and, by its decision, put out of force the acts of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the RS.

If it does not do so within the next seven days, the SDA will, through authorised proposers, submit an appeal to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This will challenge the new curriculum in schools in the RS entity, because it is discriminatory, contrary to the rulings of international and domestic courts, and contrary to state-level laws that are binding on lower levels of government. In addition, it represents a violation of the Criminal Code of BiH regarding the prohibition of denying genocide and glorifying war criminals.

At the same time, it will be requested that the Constitutional Court of BiH issue an interim measure to prevent the implementation of the curriculum until a decision on the appeal is made.

Given that the application of the new curriculum in schools in the RS entity would glorify war criminals and deny genocide, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina is obliged to initiate criminal proceedings ex officio against Minister Željka Stojičić. If this does not happen, the SDA will initiate the filing of a criminal complaint, which the Prosecutor's Office of BiH will have to act upon.
