SDA: If the judiciary does not bravely rule against Dodik, it will rule against the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - The procedure of the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, which reached an agreement with the wanted person Milorad Dodik to give a statement and lifted his detention, compromises the entire security and judicial system by turning it into a tool of politics acting against Bosnia and Herzegovina, the SDA announced.

"The leaders of the judiciary are obliged to present all the details of the agreement with Dodik to the public and provide answers to a series of questions.

Who, when, and with what motives concluded the agreement with Dodik? How is it possible for the judiciary to act in this way towards a person accused of one of the most serious criminal offenses – an attack on the constitutional order of BiH? How is it possible to act in this way towards a person who refused to respond to judicial summons for months and threatened to use force against state agencies if they tried to execute the Court's order? Have other officials from the Republika Srpska entity who are wanted for the same criminal offense been questioned? Was an agreement reached with them as well? Which of the "Trojka" cadres acted as an intermediary in the negotiations? Were there international pressures for such a scenario? Why was Dodik's arrival at the BiH Prosecutor's Office hidden from the public?

The key question is: was an agreement also reached with Dodik regarding the second-instance verdict, the pronouncement of which is expected soon?

If the BiH Court gives in to Dodik's audacity, if he is not banned from any political activity after a series of serious criminal offenses against the constitutional and legal order of the state, there will be unforeseeable negative consequences for the stability of the country. Amnestying Dodik would be a verdict on the future of BiH and the rule of law in it.

Due to pressure, its own cowardice, or corruption, which is increasingly being talked about, the BiH Court must not become Dodik's accomplice and "contractor" in attempts to overthrow the state.

We call on the brave and principled part of the judicial system in BiH to finally raise its voice and resist the political instrumentalization of the judiciary, to stand in defense of the state and the rule of law in it," stated the Party of Democratic Action.
