(Patria) - The High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, was also present at the Congress of the European People's Party in Valencia.
He gave a statement to HRT about the current situation in BiH in the context of new threats from Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska and SNSD.
"One should not pay attention to anyone's threats, but rather turn to the future. BiH has been given a good opportunity. If a new coalition is formed with the aim of approaching Europe, negotiations on BiH's entry into the EU can begin," he said.
He believes this will be a long process, but citizens of BiH should be made aware that they are part of Europe and that a future awaits them there.
"We are grateful to the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Ms. Krišto, for her work, and we hope that representatives of all three constituent peoples, Serbs, Bosniaks, and Croats, will remain united. We still have a lot of work ahead of us because it became clear during the meeting with the leaders of EU member states that they are determined to provide support, to a greater or lesser extent, but also to show where the boundaries are. The actions of some people from Banja Luka are absolutely unacceptable," said Schmidt.
The President of HDZ BiH, Dragan Čović, as well as the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, were also present at the EPP Congress.
