Schmidt: The Srebrenica Resolution is not a political tool, it should be seen as a driving force for healing and reconciliation

(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt spoke today with representatives of the Organizing Committee for the commemoration of July 11 and associations of victims' families.

During the meeting, they discussed the upcoming commemoration in light of the UN Resolution declaring this day the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Genocide in Srebrenica.

- The UN Resolution on Srebrenica is not a political tool, but an expression of international commitment to preserving the dignity of survivors and remembering the murdered.

It should be seen as a driving force for healing and reconciliation. Denial of crimes is unacceptable - Schmidt stated on this occasion, the OHR announced.
