Schmidt spoke with Kasanof: US supports the use of Bonn powers to defend Dayton

(Patria) - Alexander Kasanof, the new Deputy Assistant US Secretary for the Western Balkans, met today, September 1, with the High Representative in our country, Christian Schmidt.

Kasanof and Schmidt met at the GLOBSEC forum held in Prague.

Incidentally, Kasanof replaced Gabriel Escobar in this position. Known as one of the most important European platforms for dialogue, the GLOBSEC Forum aims to emphasize the growing importance of Central and Eastern Europe in maintaining global stability.

Schmidt and Kasanof, according to the US Embassy, discussed the current political situation in our country.

"The United States strongly supports the High Representative and his use of the Bonn powers when necessary to defend the Dayton Peace Agreement and protect the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina," concluded the US Embassy.
