Schmidt held a new meeting with EUFOR Commander: Discussed reserve forces for BiH

(Patria) - The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt held a new meeting with the Commander of EUFOR forces in BiH Florin-Marian Barbu, and the topic of discussion was the current security situation in the country.

In a press release after the meeting, the OHR emphasized that EUFOR reserve forces were also discussed.

"A substantive meeting between High Representative Christian Schmidt and EUFOR Commander Major General Florin-Marian Barbu on the activities currently being carried out by the European Union Force (EUFOR) in BiH, with a special focus on the current activities of EUFOR and reserve forces for BiH," the OHR stated.

During the meeting, the special role that the OHR and EUFOR have in this situation was also highlighted.

"High Representative Schmidt stressed the key role that both EUFOR and the OHR play in maintaining the stability and security of BiH. Coordinated efforts by EUFOR and the OHR in implementing the Dayton Agreement, its civilian and military aspects, and in preserving peace and order in BiH, remain of key importance," they concluded in the press release.
