(Patria) - High Representative Christian Schmidt will give a statement to the media today in front of the National and University Library of BiH starting at 12:30 PM.

Schmidt will use his Bonn powers and impose a solution for the National and University Library of BiH, obliging the authorities to secure finances for the smooth operation of this institution of state importance.

Employees of the National and University Library of BiH have not received salaries for months, their phones have been disconnected, and publishing activities have also been halted at this moment because the National and University Library of BiH no longer issues ISBN numbers.

The tug-of-war and shifting of responsibility from one level of government to another has been going on for months, and the Council of Ministers of BiH has never yet considered the proposal of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH to enable the Government of the FBiH to appoint a management structure in the National and University Library of BiH.
