Schmidt will not impose a law today, will call for an agreement between parties

(Patria) - The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Christian Schmidt announced an address to the public. His address is scheduled for 3 PM, and according to sources from the OHR, Schmidt will not impose new laws at this moment, but rather call for the adoption and agreement of ruling parties regarding the integrity of the Election Law.

We remind you that there has been intensive talk about Christian Schmidt imposing an integrity package, meaning he would amend the BiH Election Law with the aim of greater transparency during voting.

It is also known that such a decision cannot be made in an election year, and many expected the OHR to send some signal by the end of 2023.

However, at this moment, Schmidt will not impose the Election Law, which does not mean he will not do so in the near future if the ruling parties do not agree on the adoption of the law.
