SBiH: Sarajevo Canton Government Hides Problems Behind "Situation Under Control" Platitudes

(Patria) - Regarding the declaration of the leptospirosis epidemic and the statements of the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, the Party for BiH – KVSBIH wishes to remind citizens of how the current government in KS operates.

The Prime Minister, Uk, reduces all situations, including the latest epidemic, to one sentence: "The situation is under control, there is no need for panic." However, the reality is different.

Leptospirosis is the latest in a series of problems for which the KS Government is directly responsible, having failed for years to implement necessary preventive measures such as disinsection, deratization, and disinfection. Public utility companies have been brought to a point where they cannot even help themselves, let alone the citizens – delays in garbage collection, neglected green areas, construction sites left unaddressed for months, and growing debts paint a grim picture.

The declaration of an epidemic only followed media reports and public pressure, and the opening of a case by the Prosecutor's Office is a necessary step towards identifying those responsible.

The KS Government, with Prime Minister Uk at its head, must take full responsibility and finally conclude its term, as the situation in the canton is becoming unbearable.

We also recall previous statements by Prime Minister Uk that repeat the same refrain about "controlling the situation," even though the problems are growing:

Finally, the question arises as to what will be left of Sarajevo Canton when the authorities run out of "sedatives" for all the problems caused by years of inaction, negligence, and ignorance, it was announced from SBiH.
