SBiH: Crisis in BiH began with an attempt to illegally appropriate state property

(Patria) - The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina reminds the public that the current political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina began the moment Milorad Dodik, contrary to the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted a law on so-called "immovable property" to the procedure in the National Assembly of the RS entity.

"This constituted a direct attack on the constitutional order and the decisions of the country's highest court, which clearly established that state property, including forests, agricultural land, and other resources, belongs exclusively to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Precisely because of Milorad Dodik's insistence on passing an unconstitutional law on immovable property, the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina has insisted from the very beginning on forming state government without SNSD, considering that government cannot be built with those who openly violate the Constitution and the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

In the end, SBiH refused to enter government at the state level, because it remained consistent in its stance that government cannot be formed on the foundations of unconstitutional actions," the SBiH announced.

They add that any registration of state property to an entity represents illegal action and a gross violation of the BiH Constitution.

"With the latest actions, among other things, Dodik is trying to legalize criminal acts that have already been committed by appropriating state property. We call on the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina to verify the allegations of the illegal prime minister of the smaller BiH entity regarding the registration of forests to the entity, as these are actions that are contrary to the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and seriously endanger state sovereignty and the rule of law.

At the same time, we believe it is necessary to pass a state law that would allow lower levels of government to put property into use with the consent of the state, while the titular must remain exclusively the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. State property belongs to all citizens of BiH, and no lower level of government can change its titular or appropriate what belongs to the state," the statement emphasizes.
