WE LEARN: Viktor Orban coming to Banja Luka!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is arriving in Banja Luka on November 6, confirmed for the Patria News Agency.

Orban is one of the advocates of a new political group in the European Union and has already started talks on that topic with partners he sees in Italy and the Polish prime minister.

In a text published by Politico, it is stated that the EU “is not able to respond to the challenge of preserving peace and stability in the Balkans”, and some of its leaders, such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, propose a platform for “dangerous Islamophobic and anti-Bosnian rhetoric”, distorting the facts of the 1990s.

The text, signed by Arminka Helić and Anthony Mangnall, which carries the message “We must talk about the Western Balkans” in its title, warns that the progress the region achieved in the early 2000s is now being undone, and space is opening for those who cause problems.

“It is time for NATO and the EU to work together and take measures to stop the decline of progress, and to protect the progress that has been made,” the text states.

The latest example of the revival of nationalist parties was in the local elections in North Macedonia.

The nationalist and largest opposition party VMRO-DPMNE fell in 2016 due to numerous corruption scandals. Its former leader Nikola Gruevski, who was prime minister for ten years, fled to Hungary to avoid a prison sentence, receiving protection from Viktor Orban, but that party returned to local power in North Macedonia.

It is no secret that Milorad Dodik has good relations with Orban, and earlier, the President of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, visited Hungary.
