We learned: Pope Francis to receive Komšić again

(Patria) - The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, is expected to meet with Pope Francis in the Vatican at the end of this week, the Patria news agency has learned.

This would be the second official meeting between the Chairman of the BiH Presidency and Pope Francis, given that Komšić and Pope Francis met in February 2020, when it was emphasized during the meeting that the Vatican would continue to provide constructive political support to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a multi-ethnic state, and support its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

We remind you that on October 25, 2007, Željko Komšić, on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina as the then member of the BiH Presidency from the Croat people, exchanged ratification instruments of the Basic Treaty between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Holy See in the Vatican.

Appreciating the contribution to the signing of this document, Pope Benedict XVI decorated Komšić at the end of April 2008.
