Sava near Bosanska Dubica, Gradiška and Brod should be taken seriously

The water level of the Sana River in Prijedor is currently 438 centimeters, which is about 30 cm lower than measured last night, reports a reporter for the BH News Agency Patria (NAP).

A state of emergency and the third level of flood protection preparedness, declared yesterday around 12 PM by the City Emergency Situations Headquarters, are still in effect.

In Prijedor, approximately 250 residential buildings in the settlements of Tukovi, Raškovac, and Gomjenica are flooded. The Prijedor Civil Protection confirmed that no houses are flooded, thanks in part to temporary embankments built yesterday in the Raškovac and Tukovi zones in Prijedor.

The Prijedor-Bišćani road is still cut off, and traffic is being rerouted. In the Raškovac settlement in Prijedor, there is no electricity due to a flooded transformer station.

In Prijedor, they expect the water level of the Sana River to fall during the day, as it is also stagnating in Sanski Most and Ribnik, so it could be around 420 centimeters by the evening.

Due to the falling water level of the Sana River and the lower water level of the Una River into which the Sana flows, Prijedor should not fear a flood wave from Croatia. However, according to expert warnings, the situation with the Sava River should be taken very seriously, as it could become complicated in the coming days due to the large inflow of the Sana and Una rivers into it in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Korana and Mura rivers flowing into the Sava in Croatia.

Experts warn that an increase in the water level of the Sava River is expected in the area near Draksenić, near Bosanska Dubica, then near Bosanska Gradiška and Bosanski Brod, reports NAP.
