Advice for drivers: Try to travel in the morning or evening due to extreme heat

Long waits have been recorded at the Doljani border crossing, where currently at the exit from our country the wait is 1 hour. For all those planning to spend their holidays in the Dubrovnik region, we recommend using the border crossings Čepikuće and Ivanica, and for those heading towards the Makarska Riviera and further north, we recommend the border crossings Zvirići, Bijača, Crveni Grm and Orahovlje, where waiting times are significantly shorter, reports the Patria news agency. 

In the north, the biggest traffic jams were recorded at the Bosanska Gradiška border crossing, where currently at the entrance to our country the wait is up to 30 minutes. Due to roadworks in Croatia, there is a ban on traffic for heavy goods vehicles at the Brčko-Gunja border crossing.

On the A-1 motorway Zenica-Tarčin and Zvirovići-Bijača, traffic is flowing on dry pavement, without stoppages or bans. 

Short delays occur on sections where rehabilitation works are being carried out and where it is mandatory to respect the posted signage. We highlight the following routes: Čelinac-Kotor Varoš, Čapljina-Stolac, Brod na Drini-GP Hum, Mostarsko raskršće-Kiseljak  and Transit through Sarajevo.

Drivers are advised, regardless of weather and traffic conditions, to drive with maximum caution and to keep a safe distance between vehicles. Given that warm weather is expected in the coming days, we advise drivers to plan longer journeys in the morning or evening hours, and if they do travel during the day, to take more frequent breaks, BIHAMK announced.
